A320 Simulator Program – 1-Hour Session
1. Initial Briefing – 5 min

Quick explanation of the controls: sidestick, throttle, pedals.

Difference between manual, autopilot, and autothrust.

Session objective: one flight with the aircraft fully automated, one flight where you fly manually.
2. First Flight – Automatic (20 min)

Takeoff: student at the controls until rotation, then autopilot engaged.

Explanation: the pilot guides the aircraft verbally via FMS and ATC, not with hands.

ILS approach: fully automatic.
-
Automatic go-around: even the go-around can be handled in full automation.

Repositioning: with autopilot engaged, on downwind.
3. Second Flight – Manual (25 min)

Downwind: disengage autopilot, autothrust remains on.

Student flies the circuit and intercept manually.
-
Final approach: guided by PFD and external references, but flown entirely by hand.

Full manual landing.
4. Debrief – 5 min

Comparison between the two flights:
- Comfort and precision of autopilot.
- Effort and sensations of manual flying.
